Welcome to the Tuesday Night Women's Golf 2009 Season

Week 14

Sep 6, 2009 | Posted by Business Women's Golf Committee

The scores were very close last week.     The race for 2nd and 3rd place is tight!  Team 2 Diamonds in the Rough scored a win over Team 3 The Ruby Tuesdays by a very narrow margin of 1 point.       Seven points separate Team 2 from Team 3 in the standings.   A win for either of these teams will secure a second place finish.   Team 4 The Emerald City Eagles held their lead for the 12th week. in a row.

Team 1 Star Sapphires continue to have a very strong showing with 10 players attending last week despite their loss.  Way to go Team 1 - You have won the TEAM SPIRIT award!

This week will be the last week of Team play in order to allow time to arrange for closing event celebrations.  A reminder that the course will be open to members in the afternoon on this tuesday, so play early if you like or play 18 (only front 9 score counts) and take advantage of this nice weather.  Please hand your score card into the pro after golf so your Front 9 score can count toward your team total.   Business Women will have access to the Front 9 only at 5pm.

SEPTEMBER 15TH - CLOSING NIGHT EVENT!    Plan to join in the festivities.

For those individual's who are owing toonies for the season you will be notified by email or in person of the amount owing in order to collect for closing event celebrations.

See you on the tee!

Only two more weeks of team play before our closing event.  The race for 1, 2 and 3 is anyone's guess!

Team 4 The Emerald City Eagles continue to hold a narrow lead despite their  1 point loss to Team 3 The Ruby Tuesday's last week.    Team 2 Diamonds in the Rough are holding onto second place by a slim margin of 7 points.   Team 1 The Star Sapphires continue to show great team support with their weekly participation despite their losses.  Way to go Team 1!

Plan to attend CLOSING night on September 15, 2009.   The event with be a 9 hole shot gun start with on course prizes and dinner to follow.  We are working on a menu which is sure to please all!    A sign up sheet will be posted in the locker room within the week.  Advance sign up will help the organizers plan for the evening.     Even if you are  unable to attend the golf, please join us for dinner  and festivities after golf.

See you on the tee!

Week 12

Aug 24, 2009 | Posted by Business Women's Committee

Congratulations to  Team 2 Diamonds in the Rough and Team 4  The Emerald City Eagles for their  stellar participation on August 18th.  Out of a total of 22 players that played on that evening,  17 players were represented by these two teams alone!    Cudo's to the captains of Team 2 and Team 4 for mobilizing their troops!

There was also an interesting turn of events this night..............both Team 1 Star Sapphires and Team 3 The Ruby Tuesdays were unable to field a team.  It so happened that both teams were playing each other on this night so no points were awarded to either team.

There is a close race between The Diamonds in the Rough and The Ruby Tuesdays for 2nd and 3rd place.   Lots could change in the standings this week as The Diamonds in the Rough play the Star Sapphires and The Ruby Tuesdays play The Emerald City Eagles.

Tuesday August 25th is a regular team night.  The Pro Am is scheduled to be off the course around 5pm so we should have our usual access to the tee.  Weather is sounding very promising for tuesday night!

Menu suggestions are being accepted for the closing day event on September 15th........how does the group feel about chicken wings and perch with fries and salads?????

Use comment section below to give your feedback and any suggestions for meal and/or dessert.

See you on the tee!

"Lots to Talk About"

Aug 16, 2009 | Posted by Business Women's Golf Committee

Tuesday has seen it's fair share of rain this season.  Due to inclement weather, team golf on August 4th was cancelled.

Brantford Business Women hosted Heron Point Guests on August 11th on a beautiful summer evening.    The Family Diningroom patio overlooking the Grand River provided an awesome setting for cocktails after golf.   A good time was had by all!  Congratulations to Doreen Ash and Cheryl Wakefield - winners of the Pot of Golf on Hole #3.     Next season we will arrange for a 9 hole exchange with Galt and we will reschedule our return date to Beverly in 2010.

August 18th is a regular team night.    As this is a Stanley Thompson Day, the course will be open to members in the afternoon for golf.    There is an opportunity for Business Women to play early or play 18 holes if you choose on this day.     Business Women will have access to the Front 9 only at 5pm.   If you play early, make sure you check in with the pro shop and pick up a Team score sheet before you go out to play.  Submit you Team score sheet to the pro shop following your round to ensure your score counts towards your team total.

Mark your calendars - on Tuesday September 15, 2008 we celebrate our closing night!

See you on the tee.
