Falcon's VS The Fossils in the FinalsSep 22, 2011 | Posted by Shane GrahamThe Falcons may have come into the Playoffs as the 8 seed but have peaked at the right time. After knocking off the regular season Champion Smokin Aces in the opening round the Falcons soared to a 12 shot victory over The Slashers to advance to the Championship Finals next week.
The Fossils shot the low team score (213) for the week on their way to defeating The Habs by 14 shots to advance to the Finals against the Falcons. Fred Kauk shot 1 over par to keep his perfect proficiency rating for the season.

Don’t for get to sign up for the Men’s League Final Scramble on Friday September 30th. You must sign up by Wednesday September 28th to get your name in the scramble.

Let the Playoffs Begin

The Playoffs start this Wednesday. This year for the Playoff Format will be 1st vs 8th, 2nd vs 7th, 3rd vs 6th, 4th vs 5th. The winning teams move on to the Championship Bracket and the losing teams will play in the Consolation Bracket
Round One Matches
Smokin Aces (1) vs The Falcons (8)
Season Series Tied 1 – 1
The Smokin Aces come into the Playoffs as the number one seed and the favorites. Jason Rae led the League in Overall Gross Scoring Average for the Season at 36.5. The Falcons are last years defending Champions and have reigning Club Champion and 2011 Money Leader Mark Stevens leading their team.
Beaver Pelts (2) vs The Habs (7)
Season Series 2 – 1 for the Beaver Pelts
The Beaver Pelts are one of the hottest teams coming into the Playoffs winning 4 of their last 5 matches. Beaver Pelts also come into the playoffs with highest participation points for the regular season. The Habs come into the playoffs as a bit of a Wild Card. They have show moments of brilliance this year but have fell into a slump at the end of the season causing them to slip to 7th place in the standings.
The Titans (3) vs The Fossils (6)
Season Series 2 – 1 for The Titans
The Titans finished the second halve of the season strong moving from last place all the way to 3rd. Morry Huber has been the anchor of the team finishing with 88.20% proficiency and playing every week. The Fossils are lead by team captain Fred Kauk who is one of two players with a perfect proficiency.
Da Gators (4) vs The Slashers (5)
Season Series Tied 1 – 1
Da Gators finished the regular Season as the only other team other than the Smokin Aces to have a winning record. Unfortunately due to lack of participation they found themselves finishing 4th in the overall Standings. On the positive side they come into the Playoffs with 4 of the top 10 Overall Gross Scoring Averages. The Slashers will need a team effort to win their opening round match. If Bob Snyder and Mark Cawker can go low they should be able to pull off the upset as good net scores have not been a problems for them.
