We are cancelling Men's Night for the Women's Member Guest??!! Unbelievable! Men's Night is the hilight of my week. I thought this was our night and on top of that my team stinks! Please FIGJAMS, let's win a couple before the break!

Week 4

Jun 17, 2010 | Posted by Jeff

Week 4 of the TML is over and some good golf was played once again. Before we talk about this week I would like to tell you about the Super League. I have had some questions about what the super league is so here is goes.  The super league is a weekly battle with the other clubs that use the Golf Scoring system. Every week the top 24 net scores count to the clubs total (over or under par) score. If anyone has been looking at the standing you will see that Glendale has the sixth best “Sandbaggers” in the league. So the next time someone says Glendale has the most sandbaggers you can look at the list and say “No Brantford has more.”

The winners of this week’s TML were Birdies Bogeys Beer and Bourbon with a fine score of 247 (+2); this is their second win and 3rdtop 2 of the young season. I think the teams strong play come from their captions strong leadership. The second place team of the week was B B Boyz, with a score of 250 (+5).

The winner of the closest to the car was Roy Gunell, closest to the pin on 2 was Paul Yake, and closest to the pin on 9 was Dennis Concordia. The winner of the closest to the hole on 4 for the second week in a row was Doug Paul.

Low gross winner of the week with a score of 35, even par was Joe Demerling. Low net winner with a score of 30 was Peter Cicchi.

Most useless of the useless bastards this week was Mike Glover with a great net score of 47. I think that Mike useless play is due to the fact he has a Montréal Canadians golf bag, I guess it could be worse he could have a Toronto Maple Leafs bag.

Until next week

Week 2

Jun 3, 2010 | Posted by Jeff

Week 2 was another week full of great weather and good golf. The overnight rain made the greens softer and made scoring easier; it apparently didn’t help anyone in my playing group or on my team. The team to beat this week was the Golf Machine captained by Scott Bell, with a score of 4 under par 241. There was a tie for second between Shanks A Lot captained by Adam Baylis and Hack Attack 2010 captained by Matt Mckelvie, with a score of 3 under par 242.

There was a tie for low gross this week between Matt Abbott of The Figjams and Matt Mckelvie of the Hack Attack 2010. There was also a tie for low sandbagger this week between George DeRubeis and John Morcone. Dan Leskovec won closest to the car on #1, Wilf Heene won closest to the pin on #2 and Don Moon won closest to the pin on #4.

When I was looking for the Most Useless of the Useless Bastards the name that I found surprised me. There was one of Glendale most famous golfers Vasko Georgievski. Vasko shot a net score of 46 this week. It just goes to show you that even famous golfers can’t play well every day

But the story of the week has to be none other than Joe Demerling captain of Demerling Posse IV. After his round I had a chance to ask him about his round and it was then that I learned that his 2 over par round of 37 wasn’t like any other round of 37. What makes his 37 so different you ask? Well Joe managed to shoot that 37 in his shower flip flops. That right gentleman he forgot his golf shoes and only had his flip flops. He could have bought a new pair of shoes from the pro shop but he thought it would be best to just play. This reminds me of another man who some of you might know, Fred Couples who was the talk of The Masters tournament for playing in his “boat shoes”. It just goes to show you a good golf swing can play in any shoes. Then again sometimes you just get lucky. HA HA. Well done Joe you also won closest to the pin on #9, so that is $30 towards a new pair of shoes then next time this happens.
