Well it is all over but the crying – and we made it to the 6^th hole for the second year in a row. There were 42 teams and Dumb and Dumber!

We started at 3:30 and it took over 40 minutes to get the teams into the fairway. Maybe longer as some teams never saw the fairway at all on the first hole.

I promised Paul V that I would stop teasing him for being the first on the road off the first tee – so do me a favour and don’t mention this to him. There were 11 teams eliminated on the first hole. This year the second hole proved to be a difficult one with another 13 teams being sent to the beer carts.

Moving on to the third hole 8 more teams were sent packing. By the time we finished the 5^th hole there were only three teams standing. Our winner was crowned on the 6^th and what a drama it was with only 18 inches or less the team of Yakiwchuk/Molon was presented with the closest thing to a sure thing as there is – however – Tom missed the putt, the crowd was overcome with emotion as was his partner at his lack of focus on such a critical moment in the game.

Having grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory  - it was the team of Rogers and Dave Rutherford that had the chance to sink a 12 footer for the tie. As luck would have it George missed by only a fraction of an inch and the winners were crowned.

Of course with not much to do but cause vocal chaos Spec had to get into the winners photo.

Congratulations Tom and Gerry for a game well played. We had two runners up the teams of Rutherford/Rogers and McCutcheon/Ramsay.

Dinner and drinks followed as well as a draw from those present for a new Laser Range Finder. Our winner was Mike Davey – hope it helps.

The TML is finished for the season and I hope all that attended our Swatfest enjoyed themselves and make sure you tell the 12 guys that called and pulled out that morning what fools they were for missing such a great event.

The team of Dumb and Dumber raised $680 for the back shop fund – a big thank you for all that made bets on when they would be eliminated – it was the 4^th hole in case you were wondering.
