Welcome to the Men's Day 2009 Season

Huge Thanks to All!

Sep 18, 2009 | Posted by BP

Thanks to everyone who participated in the 2009 Men's Night Program!  It was a huge success, and that is because of the participation!!

Before I get into the wrap up stats, we did have one last week to look after..

Last night's winning team has been on fire lately, which is why they have managed to hold on to 1st place.  High on MOI took the last week handily!

Scores were higher yesterday, probably due to the aerated greens, but there were a couple low scores.  Cliff Hodder had a stellar 34, followed close by Ron Haasnoot at 35.

Amazingly enough, we had a hole-in-one yesterday, however, once again it was on the wrong nine.  Tim Deelstra was yesterday's ace.  It followed a weird week.  We have had a hole in one every day since Tuesday!  Phil Parsons Tuesday, Dave Moore Wednesday, and Tim last night.  Well done gentlemen!  Just too bad you don't get the $750..

Final prize money is posted on the money list.  Check out the total prize money!  Over $11,000!!!

I will post some more stats over the weekend.

Thanks again guys.  It was a great year and we're already looking forward to getting it going for 2010!  I appreciate your support and participation.

Thanks,

B

Last Kick at the Can

Gentlemen, this is it!

Hard to believe that we're on the last night already.  The races are close, so your team needs you!

Please remember that the Banquet is TOMORROW night.  Please make sure you let your captain know if you are attending.

Play well!

Millennium the hardest nine????

Sep 11, 2009 | Posted by BP

OK, so to everyone who claims that the Millennium nine is too hard, check out the scores from last night!

We easily set a Men's Night record for the number of players at or below par - including a father son combo at 35.  Too bad the other son slapped it around like a fool....

With 15 players, High on MOI took the well earned victory in week 2 of the playoffs.

Three players shared the Low Gross title, Brad Haines, Wilf Genzle, and Rod MacKenzie.  All three shot a terrific 34.

With a very low Net 29, Phil Parsons takes home his first Low Net title of the year.  At one point he looked like he could do the rare 2 for 2, as he was also 35 Gross!  Well done Dad!!

The landscape has changed as teams rally for points through the playoffs.  The Hack and Slashers have slipped back to third, and the Thunder Chickens seem to be stuck in a rut.  All bets are off though as next week is the final week with the most points up for grabs.

Your Captains will be in touch with you to find out whether or not you will be attending next Friday night's Banquet.  Remember, you have already paid for the dinner.  If you did not pay at the start of the year, your account has been charged the $20 league fee.

See you next week for the final kick at the can!

Round One Done..

Sep 4, 2009 | Posted by BP

Round one of the playoffs turned out to be a heck of a night!  The close races in each pool just got even closer as some teams made some substantial gains.

First to mention, the Forenicators, who have struggled to get the participation needed to win this year, made the biggest jump of all - closing the gap between them and 3rd place.  20 points for the win of the pool, and 10 player points has brought them within striking distance of the end of year prize money.  They will need two more strong appearances to do so!!

Pool A is turning into a shootout.  The Hack and Slashers recruited 13 guys to play last night, but the slapped the ball around so badly that all they could muster was last in the pool for the scoring.

The Poles and Holes on the other hand had an unbelievable score.  Yet another questionable 26 was posted...  They have closed the gap to just one point behind the H&S's.

There is now only 11 points separating worst and first in pool A.  Steven King couldn't write a finale this gripping!

Brad Haines and Rod Sachs both fired 35's, and from the sounds of it, both could've been lower.  Great playing guys!

The owner of the second Net 26 of the year is Randy McLean who takes the Low Net prize for the week by a whopping 5 strokes.  Next year there will be a hat, and the low sandbagger will have to wear it for the week!

Remember guys, the points increase each week.  If your team is behind, it is imperative you get the guys out to take advantage!!

Oh, and thankfully someone other than Bones won the 50/50 this week.  Congrats Ron!!

That's all.  Have a great & safe long weekend!  Play golf!  It's going to be beautiful!
