Welcome to the Women's Night 2010 Season

Another great week!

Jul 28, 2010 | Posted by BP

What a shootout!  Three teams were in a close battle for the win this week.  The Pin Dancers, The Big sHooters, and the Ball Bashin Babes!  Unfortunately, only one team was able to secure their Team Vs Team Match.  Therefore the Pin Dancers were victorious for the second straight week!

Led by some stellar play from Captain Hagerman...*cough*, The Dancing Ladies put together a great score.  The dancers have a great thing going.  When one is away, another one fills in.  They are running like a finely oiled machine!  I was going to say finely oiled dancers, but I'm sure I'd get in trouble for such a comment.  Janet Bateman was the MVP of the team this week with a Net 33 which helped in the cause.

In the Low Gross Department, Katrina Klemp fired a great 40 to take home the title once again.

We have a new winner in the Low Net area, Judy Wretham.  Judy rattled off a lovely net 31 yesterday!

Big News!  This week's 50/50 pot did not find a home!  Mary Kaye Hudson would have been the winner... however, she didn't play yesterday and therefore $65 is put into the pot for next week.

Participation has been terrific all year.  I just wanted to thank you for your support of the league.  I hope you are enjoying it as much as we enjoy running it!

Pin Dancers Flying High!

Jul 21, 2010 | Posted by Jeff MacDougald

Greetings Ladies,

Unfortunately, my long winded friend (Mr. Parsons) is taking a leave of absence on this blog report so I will be taking over this weeks spiel with a shorter version of my own.

Big congratulations to our 50/50 winner...Barb Annett...who has joined an exclusive club as a two time winner!!  This emphasizes the importance of putting your toonie in and taking your chances!

Individual honours went to Karen Hak and Carolyn Chapman who both fired off smooth Net 32's...while the Low Gross award went to Katrina Klemp...who managed to show up for her tee time, too bad the same can't be said for showing up for her shifts at the LGC!  Sorry...

And for the final piece of the puzzle...the Pin Dancers are making their way up the standings with a team win...having 11 team members play and winning their individual match up.

Sorry for the lackluster blog..but I think everyone knows that BP is the talker, and I'm the looker...but don't tell him that!

Until next time...I hope I have my job...

Jeffrey MacDougald

We have a winning streak....

So, I guess Anne Stirling is a bit like Sampson, when you cut her hair her score drops!  Sporting a lovely new 'doo', Anne fired a lovely 40 to take both the Low Gross AND the Low Net title this week.  If this works, I'll be showing up bald next week...

First - we should talk about the 50/50 winner.  Jennifer Smith was the lucky gal last night that took home two weeks of 50/50 money... $116 to be exact!

Now, I have heard some crying regarding the 50/50...  There is a reason that all names are in the draw.  The league is about participation.  If a name is drawn that didn't play, the carryover builds more excitement for the following week.  So no, we won't be drawing until there is a winner.  If you don't like it - don't put your $2 in.  Easy as that...

Now to the winning team this week.  The juggernaut that is the big sHooters (tee hee....jugger...) racked up another win....hahaha...rack...  Oh my the jokes just write themselves.  Anyway, Lisa's team has figured out what it takes to seal the victories.  11 players was enough last night, and some pretty good scores helped too!

The Pin Dancers came up one player short of making a run at this week's top prize.  Captain Hagerman was no where to be found!?  Rumour has it she was at the theatre!  The theatre!!  Can you believe it??  She passed up a nice pair of pink socks to go to Toronto...

The Bunker Babes were also one person short, however I have no inside information to poke fun at those that didn't appear.  So they get a free pass this week.

The rest of the teams obvioulsy suffered from people on holidays.

Hope everyone enjoyed their free pair of socks.  A reminder that the $20 gift certificate must be used before July 31st.

Next week, only Vintage is open.  The league will be running and if you wish to play 18 you will have to play Vintage twice.  If you are booking using tee-on, you have to select 9 holes, not 18, otherwise it won't allow you to book.  It'll be like 1988 again!

Sorry for the delay...

Jul 8, 2010 | Posted by BP

Good morning girls!  Sorry for the delay, I was at the Stratford Ladies Pro-Am yesterday.  Speaking of which, the Stratford Ladies Program is the one I used as an example at the start of the year of where we would like to get to.  I found out that we have actually surpassed their program in terms of participation!!  Well done!

First off - the 50/50.  Big carryover this week!  Pat Graham didn't play this week, and her name was drawn.  $61 over to next week.  Don't miss it!

Carolyn Schofield is playing well!  She bettered the field by 1 shot this week to take another Low Gross Title!  There's some hot competition for the low gross each week, with several ladies gunning for the prize.

Brenda Sippel is the Silica Bagging Champ this week!  Net 30!  Impressive!

The Big sHooters seem to have some momentum on their side.  The Pin Dancers lost on score only this week to give Captain Moore's team another victory.

Participation has been great!  64 ladies this week!

NEXT WEEK IS SOCK WEEK!  Every player that plays next week gets a free pair of ladies' golf socks!  No Play - No Socks!
