2020 Men's NightMay 21, 2020 | Posted by Dru BolenWelcome to the NEW Men's Night Website! We are excited to announce we’ll be using a new online scoring system specifically designed for our league. Thanks to this unique web based program players can track the scoring online and we now have the ability to display live scoring on the club TV's.
LEAGUE FORMAT For the regular season, we ask that individuals and groups book tee times over the phone and inform the shop staff that you're playing in men's "day". We are hoping enough guys can sneak out during the day that will leave us space for the post-work crowd. If enough guys can't make it, we will consider switching to a 9 hole to help the field stay large. We will be inputting your current golf canada handicap, and anyone without will be an 18 to begin. The program is set up to flight for fair competition, not exactly the same number of players in each flight. The handicap will be tracked based on rounds, and adjusted if someone is out of whack to begin the season. The biggest change will be booking a tee time as we won't understand who's coming without a phone call. Since we can't shotgun or hang out, it will be tough to complete 18 post-work for everyone. We are planning for burgers ($8.50), so please let us know if you'd like to eat at the turn that day. We'll make a list for the kitchen to be ready to go as golfers show up, turn, or leave after their rounds. Prizes will be Gross & Net 1st - 3rd as it has been in prior years. If weather ruins a half day, we will have to make adjustments for apperance points in our yearly standings to make it fair. One of the hi-lights of the program is the actual real-time scoring. As the staff enter the scores, the standings, individual performances (good/bad), Skins, the team information and a bunch of other cool stuff is updated in real-time online. Guys who can’t make it or those stranded at the office until later in the day can log onto the league website to see how things are shaping up. Another bonus is the program actually maintains a separate league handicap so you know it will be fair and balanced for everyone. Handicaps are automatically updated and applied based solely on your league scores. That, my friends, is pretty good. One of the best parts is that we can begin to run alternate games and events through this site. It will give those showing up later a chance to see who's on the course, or who shot what earlier in the day. We can run 2-man, 4-man, best 5 of 7 scores etc and have teams play against each other. Our goal is to first create a small 32 Player 2-man match play bracket to begin in June. If we get through the rounds (separate from men's night), or have excessive demand, we will look to grow the field for a larger 2 or 4 man match play later in the summer. There is also an option to have a fantasy football style draft next year based upon this year's results. Once the data is loaded, we could set up drafting of 2 or 4 man teams for next season. The sky is the limit, but we wanted to see what this software had to offer and give everyone a website and something different to start the season.
That is all,
