Weather Update - Blowing HardMay 28, 2020 | Posted by Dru Bolen54 Men had nothing better to do a windy Wednesday in May. Handicaps took a substantial blow and we only had one deuce in the field. We are still working out if we will draw tees for the Deuce AND if we will flight the deuce pot as this software can tackle it. Your local pro held his own even through 12, and then froze to death while spraying his way to an 82. He's earned the wind badge and donated to the Souris River gods right of hole 17. I had a couple of things I needed to clear up with the Pro Shop so I called out and, among other things, asked him how things were looking on the course. His reply… "It’s 32 and blowing hard." I had a few ideas on what to write about that but with the way I’ve been playing lately I can’t afford the time off. We will work to fix the points on the site for appropriate appearances and final places. The prizes are going to start as gift certificates kept in the proshop/computer. This might be easier for some of the competitors (sandbaggers) to save up some winnings over the year towards bigger prizes. We wanted to start by trying this method and see if it was more of a crowd pleaser. If you go under PLAYERS - SCOREBOARD, you can sort by gross, net, handicap, and then "View Scoring By Flight" above. It'll be 0-7, 8-12 and 13 +. This site will calculate your league handicap based strictly on your 4 best four league scores out of your last 7 league scores so you're welcome for yesterday. If someone gets out of whack we can adjust. NEXT WEEK: We have a designated Deuce Pot sponsor to be announced that's offering $500 for the pot. Keep your eyes peeled for that announcement. We will set up the tee sheet to double tee from 3:30-5pm. This means that the course will be closed ~1:30 to clear the space required. You can book 3:30-5pm on either the front or the back. This will give us a chance to get about 56 guys off in that window (28 per side every 12 minutes). If you intend to eat at the turn, please let us know. Starting June 10th, you'll be able to sit in the restaurant and we can post those guidelines as we get closer to that date. https://www.golfscoring.net/weyburn/tour/2020 is the site to watch and track scores etc. We will continue to fine tune, and will be able to get this on a TV as we get going forward. If the early players get posted, maybe it'll put some pressure on guys at night. NameNew Comment (HTML tags are not allowed) |
